Position Summary: The Architecture, Art & Design Librarian is responsible for the Littman Library during the closing shift and in the absence of the Director. The AAD Librarian will work closely with students, faculty, staff and other librarians to assist in digital projects and services initiated by the Littman Library, will develop and promote educational materials and collections, and instructional sessions and programs. The Librarian will plan and implement workflows, including strategies to manage digital assets, and advise students with best practices for preserving digital scholarship. Typical work schedule • Fall and spring semesters: Monday to Thursday, 12:30 pm to 8:30 pm and Friday, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm • Summer sessions and between semester hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm • Occasional weekends such as Open Houses or special events
Prerequisite Qualifications: 1. An accredited MLS/MLIS/MSLS degree. 2. 2 years of demonstrated experience using digital exhibition software such as Omeka and understanding of digital preservation best practices; working with content management systems and web authoring tools. 3. 2 years experience with metadata standards such as Dublin Core, MARC and controlled vocabularies. 4. Strong oral and written communication skills. 5. Establishes and maintains collegial professional relationships with all faculty, students, staff and administration. 6. 2 years staff supervision experience; and the ability to delegate tasks and effectively manage workflows for support staff, and student and graduate assistants. 7. 1 year experience managing print serials, maintaining serial controls and submitting claims. 8. Aptitude for teaching and developing instructional content, for both in-person and online instruction. At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
