Reporting to the Executive Director, Center for Career and Talent Development, the Internship and COOP Coordinator will assist in identifying COOP/Internship employers, soliciting their involvement in the Highlander COOP Program and/or appropriate recruiting activities, acquiring promotional materials and informing staff about new coop/internship opportunities. The coordinator will provide application assistance and coach students through their COOP/Internship participation. The coordinator will also collaborate with other Internship Coordinators on campus to share opportunities, track student progress and evaluate overall program.
The successful candidate must be self-motivated, business minded, collaborative and have an ability to work independently and in a team setting. Strong organization, written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability to oversee multiple tasks with attention to detail, a motivated work style and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Proficient in the use of computer applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new software quickly. Demonstrated experience in sales, customer service and project management.
Strong preference given to individuals with previous experience in cooperative education, career services or other student service areas at the college/university level. Two years of experience in a business or career office setting.
