The Communications and Digital Media Specialist will be a member of the Marketing and Communications team and support the efforts of the Marketing and Communications Manager and the School community to develop and implement strategies to promote Friends School, Little Friends, and other auxiliary programs. This position will focus on passionately telling Friends School’s story through digital and print media channels.
Translate updated Friends brand identity into compelling designs for print and digital mediums
Coordinate with the Office of Admission and other internal departments to ensure the School’s digital media presence attracts new students and qualified applicants for employment
In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Manager, oversee the School’s website (friendsbalt.org) and all written and graphic content
Create and/or oversee production of all print publications and materials, including campus signage
Design templates for official school communications
In coordination with the Marketing and Communications Manager, produce news content for website and social media outlets
Oversee creation and production of the Admission digital viewbook
Collaborate with the School’s auxiliary programs (including child care, school store and summer programs) to create designs for merchandise and manage brand of existing merchandise
Assist with social media and blog management
Provide photography/videography coverage of major school events and manage photo shoots for advertising creative
Maintain relationships with external vendors and consultants
Serve as a co-clerk for the new Marketing & Communications committee
Other duties as needed that support the work of the Marketing Department
Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of related work experience, preferably in independent schools or non-profit sector
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work and meet competing deadlines
A high level of proficiency and comfort with technology
Detail oriented team player who will enjoy working on a busy school campus
Strong work ethic and a sense of humor
Ability to maintain confidentiality and sense of professionalism
