Position Description: The Web Content Manager oversees creation and curation of content on UCLA Anderson's website with the goal to effectively promote the Anderson brand and the school's academic research centers, faculty, students, alumni, special events and educational programs. As the #1 information source for prospective students, the Anderson website is a critical channel for student recruitment as well as a key communications tool for all Anderson audiences.
In addition to proven technical skills in the areas of web content development, SEO and user experience, this role requires strong problem solving, reporting and verbal and written communication skills.
The Web Content Manager will work in close collaboration with marcomm's editorial and digital graphics teams to produce and update engaging written & visual content.
He/she will also work closely with UCLA Anderson Computing and Information Services (ACIS) to optimize delivery of responsive content across desktop, tablet and mobile platforms. This role requires a strong troubleshooter who can act quickly to solve problems.
He/she will also liaison daily with degree programs, departments and centers across the school to ensure that web content is updated, accurate and compelling.
Specific responsibilities include: Reviewing competitive school websites and to identify communication strategies, themes and stories, developing proactive content recommendations, responding to community requests for content development, participating in content calendar discussions, strategizing the best channels for specific content distribution, interviewing individuals for story development, writing and editing stories and blogs, working with other marcomm team members to coordinate photo and video content related to copy, posting content, editing and proofreading digital content, and analyzing web metrics.
The Web Content Manager must work effectively in a collaborative team, with the ability to lead initiatives and motivate teamwork.
Must be proficient in web production tools, Ingeniux, Adobe Illustrator, HTML (including forms, iframes, box-model, meta tags), coding HTML5. Familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
