Job Requisition Number: 26704. Bancroft Public Services (BPS) handles the needs of patrons, visiting researchers and professors from the greater University community by providing access to thousands of rare, university archives, and special collections materials. As a non-circulating library, BPS staff members handle all access and distribution of materials to scholars, in-house technical service staff, and additionally for curators, exhibitions, and courses. BPS staff also arranges for retrievals and returns of off-site materials for digitization projects and processing archivists.
•Supporting Bancroft Public Services operations. •Paging materials from stacks and secured vault area. •Serving at Circulation and Registration desks. •Coordinating Public Services deposit workflow.•Related library or special collections experience. •Demonstrated experience with bibliographic searching and library catalogs. •Experience with Microsoft Office and Google applications. •Attention to detail in high-pressure situations. •Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. climb ladders, and work for prolonged periods in 60-62 degree temperatures. •Ability to communicate detailed instructions/resolutions to others clearly with confidence verbally and in prepared documents/email. This position will remain open until filled. This is a one year limited appointment with 43% FTE.
