Reports to: Vice President of Finance & Operations
The IT Manager will be responsible for the overall vision and coordination of the Museum’s information and communications systems.
Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage, monitor, troubleshoot and support all Physical and Virtual Servers, equipment and applications, such as Microsoft 2008-2016 and later server operating systems, server hardware, switches, routers, Office 365 and e-mail related solutions, museum applications, SQL databases, Citrix farm, Azure, VMware, Nimble SAN, Cisco AMP & Umbrella, Meraki firewall, switch and Wi-Fi infrastructure management, etc.
Support / Maintain / and troubleshoot Security Infrastructure of ONSSI camera management software / OnGuard card access system.
Provide short and long-range IT strategic planning, conducting technology needs analysis, recommending, implementing new technologies, and disaster recovery planning. Experience with cloud migration is highly preferred.
Experience with and understanding of cloud migration.
Manage all aspects of routine support, maintenance schedules and disaster/contingency support of critical and non-critical Museum systems and data to ensure stability and to maximize system uptime.
Ability to manage vendors, including contracts, licenses, and maintenance agreements.
Ensure IT security practices, policies and products are in place, including regularly applying software patches and software upgrades to all systems and backups are appropriately completed.
Management and deployment of end-user IT hardware, such as desktops, laptops, printers, telephones, multi-function copiers/scanners/faxes, monitors, etc.
Develop and manage budget for all hardware, software, and desktop support.
Responsible for negotiating equipment purchases and leases, rental contracts and software site licenses.
Manage the firm’s IT operations to ensure that both the systems and the IT support meet the needs of the staff and patrons.
Recruit, develop, maintain, and review direct reports to ensure consistent and professional administration, service, and support.
Sustain the Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan in accordance with the Museum’s policies, and ensure that it is continuously tested and documented.
Oversee entire Audio/Visual infrastructure of the Museum, including but not limited to: Conference Room Spaces / Special Event Spaces.
Manage after-hours staffing for the IT department for special events.
Minimum of five years of proven track record in managing an IT department.
Proven leadership, organizational, problem solving and communication skills, including the ability to achieve results through managing and mentoring others.
Strong project management skills, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple priorities.
Knowledge of current trends, methodologies, technology, organization and operational issues.
Willing and able to work independently or within a team environment.
Flexibility of schedule desired including weekend availability and after hours to respond to IT issues as requested.
Physical Requirements: May need to climb up and down stairs; to bend, stoop, and lift or move materials and retrieve files; to pull/push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds; and to reach both above and below shoulder height.
