The Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the project manager in recruiting, training and supervising a team of research staff involved in the day to day conduct of research projects led by Dr. Shreya Kangovi, physician-investigator in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine. The principal research responsibilities of the CRC will pertain to the development of processes for ongoing evaluation of programs that utilize the Individualized Management towards Patient-Centered Targets (IMPaCT) model including the IMPaCT Transitions, Home and Primary Care interventions, as well as a 3rd and 4th year medical student elective called the IMPaCT Teaching Service. The CRC will be responsible for helping to design and implement mixed-methods quality improvement initiatives relating to the effective use of community health workers (CHWs) to improve health outcomes for high-risk populations. Additional research responsibilities will include coordinating health policy research projects such as retrospective data analyses of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services patient data and assisting with other research activities of Dr. Kangovi as assigned. Additional responsibilities will pertain to providing programmatic support for the IMPaCT Teaching Service and the clinical interventions offered through the Penn Center for Community Health Workers (PCCHW), a clinical operation of Penn Medicine with services in HUP, PPMC, and CPUP.
