Parsons the New School for Design seeks a responsible, detail-oriented Part-Time Office Administrator to provide support for a research grant situated within the Healthy Materials Lab, a funded initiative that is housed within the Parsons Design Lab. This is a part-time, temporary position through April 30, 2021.
This individual should display a professional demeanor particularly in interactions with grant partners, outside experts and with funders. Work in the Lab is fast moving and complex and applicants should be able and willing to multi-task. This position will provide administrative support to HML Directors and staff on grant-related activities. Must possess strong organizational and communication skills and be punctual, logical, and self-sufficient. A high level of technical computer literacy is preferred. This position provides a flexible work schedule with a high expectation of reliability. Must be available to work at least three days a week, for a total of up to 24 hours per week. This is an administrative position governed by the 1205 and will report to the Director, Healthy Materials Lab.
Responsibilities: -Oversight and coordination of public programs, private events, and internal/external meetings. Includes adjusting work schedule on days with evening events. -Schedule all HML communications, media promotion, and public relations, including mailing list maintenance and upkeep. -Assist in printing, updating, and/or distributing a range of printed and digital communications -Committee management including agenda setting, coordination with project partners and Advisory Committee, travel logistics, communications and reporting. -Implement and maintain systems to support program leadership. -Administration of academic partnerships including project management. -Creation, implementation and management of program level communications and calendar. -Oversee expense tracking and reconciliation, coordinate with relevant university offices as needed. -Additional tasks and committees as assigned.
-Bachelor's Degree with equivalent experience required. -2-3 years professional experience working in similar administrative support role -Exceptionally professional and proactive -Highly organized and detail-oriented -Demonstrated ability to prioritize, problem-solve, manage diverse activities, and meet deadlines -Excellent written and verbal communications skills -Adeptness with MS Office Suites, Mac and PC proficient, Google Apps -Experience with Mailchimp and Google Analytics preferred but not required -Pleasant demeanor and positive, can-do attitude
