Director Executive Education, Fletcher School - (19001283)
The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy is the United States' first professional graduate school of international affairs. Since 1933, Fletcher's multi-disciplinary education in international relations, law, and business, has prepared the world's leaders to become innovative problem-solvers in government, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations.
The primary aim of The Fletcher School is the same as it was when conceived by its founders in 1933: to offer a broad program of professional education in international relations to a select group of graduate students committed to maintaining the stability and prosperity of a complex, challenging and increasingly global society. Our mission remains (a) To educate professionals from around the world and to prepare them for positions of leadership and influence in the national and international arenas; (b) To increase understanding of international problems and concerns through teaching, research and publications; and (c) To serve local, national and international communities in their search to develop relationships of mutual benefit, security and justice in an increasingly interdependent world.
Executive Education at Fletcher
The Fletcher Strategic Plan envisions an expansion of our executive education activity with the goals of (1) expanding the School's mission to educate international affairs professionals from around the world; (2) contributing to and enhancing participants' understanding of global issues; (3) extending the reach, influence and impact of the School; and (4) bringing in significant additional revenues to support the School's core activities and degree programs.
For a number of years The Fletcher School has delivered executive education programs on a somewhat ad hoc basis, with the School delivering programs that have come to us primarily as a result of relationships with donors and key officials in several countries. Henceforth, we intend to move forward in a more structured fashion.
At present the School offers several programs:
An annual six-month Tavitian Scholars Program for 15 Armenian government officials
An annual 9 month program (residencies and on line learning) on Financial Inclusion for approx. 20 individuals from across the globe who work in the financial services and financial regulatory agencies
An on line program on Digital Money for individuals in the digital payments and digital financial services ecosystem
Short (one to three week) programs for officials from Ministries of Foreign Affairs
Short (three week) summer certificate programs for students from students from leading institutions overseas
Several small programs run by the Center for International Environment and Resource Policy
The Director has school wide administrative responsibility for all executive, non-degree, non-traditional education. The Director is responsible for the overall success of the Schools' executive education programs including the growth of current programs, the development and launching of new programs, and the administrative operation of the Executive Education department.
