Job Description Summary Reporting to the Director of Brand and Creative Services, the Assistant Director collaborates with and supports internal partners to deliver high-quality, on-brand marketing and creative services. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating a range of projects across all mediums including web, email, direct mail, branding, multi-media and events. The Assistant Director will need to effectively, manage internal stakeholders/partners and designers/developers with equal ease, cultivating relationships and influencing as appropriate.
Implement marketing and creative projects for key internal partners serving as primary point of contact for all (non-Admissions) partners across campus, working with the Director, CMO and creative services team to help them define their marketing objectives, audiences, messaging and tactics, ultimately producing briefs that serve as a jumping off point for creative, digital and communications colleagues.
Encourage adoption of best practices: Help lead partners toward more of a "digital first" and on-brand execution. Collaborate on the development and use of brand website assets and advocate for a template-driven approach when appropriate.
Support the creative process for concept (Tier 1) and system (Tier 2) work: Help craft a focused & strategically sound creative brief based on templates provided, schedule kickoffs and capture decisions, facilitate concept and creative reviews (both internally and with the program) and negotiate approvals.
Project/traffic management: Follow existing (and collaborate on new) processes to support and/or lead assigned projects for these partners and traffic through to completion. Work closely with key colleagues to determine schedules and resources necessary to complete projects. Lead quality assurance for these projects to ensure work delivers on strategy, on schedule and on time. Facilitate communication between partners and creative services re inputs, creative assets and deadlines.
Support university wide brand refresh project including brand ambassador program and relaunch events
Manage brand site, including development of new tools, templates and resources
Opportunities to develop skills in web site design, photography, video and social media / content
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 3 years of relevant marketing experience
Knowledge of and the ability to develop, manage and drive budgets and project plans
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to foster collaborative relationships with partners, creative team and developers
Proficiency in managing multiple projects at a time, at the highest level, with competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Excellent collaboration, organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience managing clients / projects in an agency setting
Experience in higher education marketing and branding, working with faculty, staff and administration
Experience overseeing both print and digital asset development and production
Innovative and has a passion for continued learning about latest industry trends, best practices and tools to be used by the department
Standard office environment with extensive sitting and computer work
