Description The Digital Learning & Multimedia Manageris responsible for the design and development of high quality, evidence-based multimedia for instructor-led, online, hybrid, mobile, and blended learning, in support of the undergraduate academic programs. This individual collaborates with faculty and instructional design staff to provide, promote and support the use of rapid development applications for the integration of online multimedia, thereby expanding upon the institution's mission of innovative, experiential teaching and learning. This individual also manages and maintains the multimedia budget for multimedia equipment and work-study students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES Assist the Director of eLearning & Multimedia in managing online course development, faculty training and mentoring, and quality initiatives for eLearning Provide guidance to faculty in technology tools and methods, use of instructional software. Communicate to internal and external customers' information about services provided by eLearning & Multimedia. Partner with vendors to support instructional tools used for Plagiarism, Lecture Capture, Online Collaboration, On-line meeting, and Accessibility. Participate on college wide committee service representing the eLearning Center. Design, collect, analyze and report out departmental data and prepare Annual Report. Assist in the development of documentation on instructional strategies, course materials, assessment techniques, appropriate integration of instructional technologies and best practices. Managethe technical support and collaboration to promote the Collaboratory zone in the Bellevue College Library.
Direct multimedia equipment support Direct multimedia equipment support during College hours and also outside of College hours per the department guidelines. Oversee the maintenance of manuals, computerized scheduling, delivery and retrieval systems for media equipment, media materials, and rental materials. Assistin providing video recording of events in the LMC, Collaboratory and eLearning. Monitorthe events in the Collaboratory and directs multimedia staff to manage and support viewing rooms in the XR Lab. Oversees operation, staffing, and training of the Tech Hub desk and XR Lab.
Service Management Supervise, hire, conduct performance evaluations and provide training of the Tech Hub, XR Lab and Multimedia employees. Facilitate the scheduling, coverage, and cross-training among the service desks. Work collaboratively and effectively with the inventory management system to manage equipment, and compile statistics and reports of equipment usage Maintain materials inventory for multimedia equipment.
Budget monitoring and development for media center Provide input and suggestions to the Director in monitoring and developing budgets and accounts. Research budgetary best-practices to assist Director in budget-related matters. Order supplies and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability of materials as needed. Perform related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from accredited institution.Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. At least one year experience as a multimedia support or instructional designer or trainer and experience promoting quality initiatives in online learning. College level teaching experience using Canvas or a similar LMS. Knowledge of multimedia editing packages including Panopto, Camtasia Studio, Adobe Premier, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, or similar software. Experience working in a collaborative environment with diverse employees and customer/client groups.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree from accredited institution. Knowledge of post-secondary educational strategies, as well as familiarity with online pedagogical strategies, best practices for online and blended/hybrid learning, and knowledge of Instructional Design Models or related Instructional systems. Formal training or education in Adult Learning, Human Performance Technology, Instructional Design, Training Delivery, and Training Evaluation. One year or more of experience supervising part-time staff and designing workflows. Self-development skills to keep pace with fast-changing trends. Organizational skills, ability to multi-task, manage workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, flexible work environment. Ability to work independently with effective verbal/written communication skills and collaboration skills with effective customer service focus. Working knowledge of copyright laws related to media including the Teach Act preferred. Knowledge of accessibility standards and software.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform audio-visual equipment set-ups and take-downs. Ability to transport audio-visual equipment/materials each weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to travel to different offices/classrooms/auditoriums in a timely manner. Ability to work non-standard hours/days for special events.
This position is not eligible for relocation allowance.
