We are seeking a Director of Strategic Initiatives (Administrative Services Administrator 3) to work directly with educational, and other University leaders at all levels (Deans, Senior Associate Deans, Associate Deans, and Directors) to design, initiate, direct and monitor the institutional strategic plans for the full continuum of medical education programs at the School of Medicine. Using an in depth knowledge of complex project management, strategic planning and analysis, and process improvement tools and methodologies, the Director will effectively integrate the needs of senior leadership, short-term and long-term program goals, and relevant institutional policies and procedures, to design effective plans and operational strategies. The Director will also play a pivotal role in collaborating with the central School of Medicine Strategic Planning office and the Faculty LCME lead for the education portion of the periodic LCME Accreditation reviews. This position will drive the education portion of the accreditation process, ensuring that the appropriate faculty and educators come together and address issues in a thorough and systematic way. Duties include:
Lead strategic planning and analysis for complex functions or programs with significant business, regulatory and/or technical challenges requiring subject matter expertise. May provide development of program or function from initial concept to implementation.
Manage the administration and evaluation of programs or functions. Oversee the interpretation, implementation and compliance with policies and regulations. Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues that often span organizational boundaries.
Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
Develop and manage outreach strategy that includes relationship development, communications, and compliance.
Oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions.
May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.

Advanced degree in Business Administration, Education Administration or Planning
Highly skilled at the management of complex projects within distributed organizations.
Ability to work effectively with faculty leaders and diverse project constituencies.
In depth knowledge of methodologies and application of strategic planning, planning and analysis, and process management tools
Must have (or learn) a particular expertise in the strategic issues associated with Higher Education.
Experience using and applying process improvement best practices/techniques, such as lean/six sigma
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED): Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Demonstrated excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills.
