The Center for Survey Research (CSR) csr.indiana.edu is a research unit of the Office of the Vice Provost for Research providing state-of-the-art qualitative and quantitative research services. We partner with academic clients from diverse substantive areas spanning business, education, the social sciences, and the health sciences as well as collaborators in nonprofit organizations, for-profit firms, and the government.
The CSR provides a full range of one-stop and a la carte services for qualitative and quantitative research from interview guide development and user testing to data collection and analysis.
This position is a Research Project Manager and a member of the Research Project Management Services Unit of the Center for Survey Research. The Research Project Manager leads the development and implementation of all research activities from sampling and questionnaire design through dataset preparation and analysis for the Center's research projects. The Research Project Manager is responsible for development of the proposal including statement of work and budget for Center projects. This position maintains and modifies the work scope and monitors costs throughout the project. This position serves as the primary representative for the Center to internal and external stakeholders. The Research Project Manager designs and conducts analyses of process data to evaluate data quality and cost effectiveness and develops interventions to maximize quality and cost effectiveness. This position identifies and implements process improvements and innovations to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of management procedures.
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and three years of experience designing and managing survey projects OR Master's degree.
Statistical analysis skills with knowledge of one or more statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS, Stata, SPSS, R). Project management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate and exchange information, including ability to work effectively with a diverse set of internal and external clients. Strong leadership skills with the ability to build high-performing teams and to lead in a team-managed environment with minimal hierarchy. Proven ability to be a self-starter with excellent problem solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions to challenges. Possess a high level of attention to detail and strong organizational and project management skills including ability to effectively manage competing deadlines in a highly dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to promote extraordinary organizational performance by bringing positive energy and enthusiasm.
Master's degree in survey methodology, business, statistics, social or health sciences, or related field. Coursework in survey research methods, statistics, operations research, and management. Experience with budgeting and proposal development, sampling, questionnaire design, data collection, data processing, and data analysis. Project Management Institute certification and expertise in proposal/grant development.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
