Loyola University Maryland has an exciting opportunity for a Student Activities Coordinator. The incumbent will assist in the development, administration and coordination and promotion of the campus activities program. They will support a diverse and collaborative programming vision by providing direction, training, and support for student clubs and organizations. Advise and consult with individual students, faculty, staff, administrators, student committees and student organizations to coordinate positive student engagement.
This is a 12-month, 25-30 hour/week position.
The ideal candidate will have experience in student activities or a related area, a passion for student development, and an interest in creating sustainable growth within student programming. They will also posses an understanding of student development for a multicultural inclusive environment and diverse students' social needs.
1) Coordinate training materials and curriculum for Club leaders and Moderators. Collaborate with colleagues to teach leadership, organizational management, and life skills as an integral part of the educational mission of the University. Develop and maintain monthly workshop calendar. Email monthly workshop calendar to all Clubs and Moderators. Collaborate and schedule with Assistant Directors on facilitation of workshops. Work with approved facilitators to schedule workshops. Evaluate programs and offer suggestions for improvement. Advise clubs on University policies and regulations. Troubleshoot issues and support student leaders and others toward successful club and organizational management.
2) Develop and maintain relationships with departments, colleagues, student leaders, and club moderators. Coordinate services including facility reservations, catering, and vendors for the Student Activities Fairs. Develop a list of Student club and organizations that are attending the student activities fair. Collaborate and develop digital signage and a social media presence with the Assistant Director. Provide information to the Assistant Director regarding activities related to student clubs and organizations for social media and website updates.
Provide financial oversight for all clubs and manage student club financial transactions. Work with Student Government to help manage club funding processes. Track expenditures and provide guidance to Club leaders and Moderators on how to request funds for programs. Communicate budget status and updates to Club leaders and Moderators.
3) Assist Director in planning and running annual Family Weekend. Provide support for registration, customer service, and event logistics such as catering, event reservations, and marketing. Resolve issues, escalates to supervisor as needed. Represent office of Student Activities as needed.
A Bachelor’s degree with experience in Student Activities/Higher Education is required.
