The Digital Imaging Specialist will oversee and maintain workflows enacted for imaging projects within Digital Library Technology Services. The Digital Imaging Specialist will conduct visual and technical inspections to ensure that digital objects received from imaging vendors, partners, or produced in-house adhere to the department's standards for preservation imaging. This person also manages rework and correction workflows from vendors and partners when the material has not been correctly digitized. S/he will track project completeness and provide clear communication to the Digital Content Manager to ensure that quality is maintained and all deliverables achieved according to the project's timeline. The Digital Imaging Specialist is expected to operate autonomously, making informed independent decisions with regard to daily workload and project deliverables.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 1+ years Minimum 1-year experience with digital workflows and with quality control of hi-res digital images intended for preservation.
Preferred Experience: 1+ years Knowledge and working experience in humanities-type environment is preferred. Libraries experience is preferred, as well as some experience with project management and project tracking.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated understanding of the standards of hi-res digital imaging is required; basic understanding of color management and analysis of technical targets is required. Demonstrated excellence in tracking large projects using shared Google documents and complex Excel spreadsheets.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Fluency with Office (particularly Excel), database software, and image processing software is preferred.
