Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator II for the Human Genetics Institute of New Jersey (HGINJ). This position assists and supports the Data Management & Curation group of the NIMH Repository & Genomics Resource (NRGR). The Program Coordinator II reviews existing data dictionaries, compares them to clinical instrument documentation, and assures that the defined ranges and conditions defined in the dictionary match with the requirements indicated by the instrument documentation.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Responsible for verifying and updating study information in the Study Registration and Tracking Portal.
Oversees verifying and categorizing automatically identified publications associated with NRGR for posting on the NRGR website.
Reviews and updates data dictionaries created to facilitate data sharing between the NIMH Data Archive (NDA) and the NRGR.
Helps to create new data dictionaries for studies submitting their data to the NRGR.
Assists with related data curation tasks assigned by lead NRGR Data Curators or NRGR Project Manager.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and/ or work experience in psychology/genetics/psychiatric genetics.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong analytical skills, and attention to detail
Experience formatting and/or analyzing clinical data
Familiarity with data dictionaries and automated data quality control
Ability to read, comprehend, and classify scientific articles
Knowledge of terminology and experiences related to genetics and psychiatric disorders
Experience collecting clinical data using various clinical interviews/instruments
Experience with computer coding (especially Python)
