At theUniversity of Tennessee-Knoxville (UTK), Teaching & Learning Innovation(TLI) advances the Volunteer Experience through faculty-focused services, programs,and resources that promote excellence in teaching, learning, and assessmentpractices across learning environments, experiential and service-learning, and theNSF-funded ASCEND program to support female faculty in STEM fields. We focus onfaculty and leadership development to equip our faculty to be great teachersand leaders by emphasizing evidence-based teaching and learning practices andengaging faculty in the creation and implementation of educational experiencesand environments that are meaningful, innovative, and outcomes-focused.
Currently,TLI is seeking a creative, collaborative, and self-motivated professional tohelp expand, enrich, develop, implement, and manage professional and leadershipdevelopment programs aimed at fostering faculty success across all careerstages. Specific areas of focus in the beginning are faculty mentoring, buildingcommunity and interdisciplinary networks among faculty, supportingunderrepresented faculty, advancing faculty diversity, and assisting mid-careerfaculty.
Expectedpay range: $47,000 - $53,000 dependent upon experience. For best consideration,applications should be submitted by June 10, 2019.
Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesInclude:
Lead the development of thoughtful and effective programming in collaboration with TLI colleagues and campus constituency groups that is responsive to faculty needs at UTK, advances faculty members' professional and leadership development, and is informed by research and best practices for topics like faculty mentoring, retention, and advancement.
Collaborate with TLI leadership, ASCEND program coordinator, and unit content experts as appropriate to develop integrated programming across the unit that emphasizes holistic faculty and leadership development across faculty members' career stages.
Contribute to developing a communications plan for promoting programs and maximizing faculty engagement in program activities, including the use of social media and other platforms to communicate broadly with faculty across campus.
Recruit faculty to participate in programs and events, facilitate positive faculty engagement through responsive service and communication, and serve as a friendly and supportive point of contact for faculty about relevant programs and activities.
Maintain up-to-date web presence and develop digital resources to assist faculty as appropriate.
Regularly assess effectiveness of programs and satisfaction of participants in collaboration with TLI assessment staff.
Other duties as assigned to successfully implement and manage TLI faculty success programs.
