Business Unit Overview
The Warner Bros. Television Group oversees and grows the entire portfolio of Warner Bros.’ television businesses, including worldwide production, traditional and digital distribution, and broadcasting.
What part will you play?
The Management Development Executive is a 12-month placement that will support the executive leadership with a variety of projects for ongoing development and management of Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution (WBWTD). The projects will include analysis, research, business development, marketing, strategy, reporting and planning. It is a highly visible role and requires frequent interaction with all employee levels, including the senior executive team.
More specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Gather input from the senior management team and help drive the agenda, planning and management for relevant projects and initiatives.
Work with WBWTD leadership, as well as executives in other groups, to monitor, evaluate and lead various types of “consulting style” analytical projects that deliver meaningful insights to the business, including but not limited to:
Business strategy plans, in conjunction with the needs of senior management.
Identifying risks and opportunities that could impact the WB business.
Monitoring market & consumer trends.
Market intelligence projects that inform and adapt WBWTD sales strategy.
Organizational design projects.
Key initiatives or projects surrounding processes, growth and efficiencies.
Identify, assess and develop new business opportunities and innovative ideas that have potential to generate new revenue streams and incremental profits for WBWTD.
Provide information to the team on technological advancements in the region that open up additional sales opportunities.
Support the overall digital transformation of the company by identifying & promoting digital development opportunities.
The ideal candidate needs to have a keen interest in the media and entertainment sector and be a consistent over-achiever with excellent academic qualifications. Given the exposure provided in this role, the candidate also needs to be grounded, discreet and able to handle confidential information. In addition, the candidate must be capable of quickly understanding and executing a brief, tackling problems, identifying solutions and seeing them through to conclusion.
What do we require from you?
A Bachelors Degree - bonus points if you've obtained an MBA
Impeccable organization skills including project planning and management.
A strong sense of initiative and independence – can work with little supervision and provide accurate and timely results under tight schedules.
An entrepreneurial mindset, able to come up with creative input, suggestions and solutions to different problems in varying situations.
Experience and knowledge of the media industry and / or specific interest in the media industry.
Proven experience of ability to “get hands dirty” in projects - able to work at both strategic and detailed/execution levels.
Ability to travel to key territories as required to build relationships with executives, fully comprehend the business and gain insight into the culture, opportunities and challenges.
