Under the supervision of the Principal Investigators (PIs) and the Study Nurse Practitioners (NPs), the project assistant will assist with the overall daily operation of the projects as specified by the funders, as detailed in the protocols, and as regulated by the Cook County Health & Hospitals System Institutional Review Board (CCHHS IRB). Works with the team regarding both scientific and administrative aspects of the projects.
Masters multiple protocols and their respective procedures governing each particular research project.
Maintains all certifications up to date, including those specific to funders, protocols and CCHHS.
Conducts recruitment and retention activities including, community engagement/education, pre/screening, informed consent, enrollment and follow-up.
Maintains study activity logs and prepares reports of study activities for study team, funders and CCHHS IRB.
Prepares the necessary materials for study activities including, but not limited to source documentation, case report forms, specimen collection kits and incentive packages.
Maintains inventory of study materials, including running controls of test kits, ordering of supplies and disposal of expired materials.
Communicates with study participants, study team, and protocol teams; including registration, phlebotomy, pharmacy, laboratory and radiology.
Conducts data entry, including data quality assurance and control activities.
Bachelor's degree minimum. Master’s preferred.
Experience in community programs or conducting research with young men who have sex with men and Transgender women preferred (15 yrs & older) preferred.
Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Well-developed clinical, written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Project management software including Microsoft Office Suite and/or G Suite preferred.
Experience with database systems (RedCap, Medidata Remote Data Capture, etc.) preferred.
