The Epic Project Manager (Technical Project Management Professional 4) provides leadership, project management and system analysis for the IT Epic Application teams by implementing specialized, complex clinical, financial and operational information system solutions.Responsibilities include: Providing leadership, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and evaluating Epic applications and related third-party information systems for the organization; Participating in planning, developing, training, implementation, and evaluation of information systems to support organizational and strategic priorities; Developing, evaluating, and determining ongoing support for all components of assigned projects. The Epic Project Manager will manage multiple projects simultaneously of various sizes in a cross matrixed environment. Duties include creating and managing a project plan with assigned resources, creating and maintaining project documentation (including project charters, specifications, business cases, status reports and other project artifacts as requested by leadership), recording risks and issues and tracking project financials.REQUIRED-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in information systems, or project or program management.-Epic application experience. -Extensive experience with project management, information systems trends, and professional practice standards.-Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare related practices and principles.-Experience with application of adult learning principles.-Experience with organizational strategies, business operations, and end-user requirements to develop system design and training projects.-Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and change management skills to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships.-Proficient in office automation software (word processing, spreadsheets, visual presentation, etc.) and strong presentation skills.PREFERRED-PMP certificate-Epic certifications in any of the applications.-Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) build and configuration.-Experience working with multiple clinical information systems or system implementation teams for complex projects and/or application development.-Experience with coordinating system development and implementation with relevant clinical and operational initiatives and informatics projects. -Experience with methods and tools for systems development life cycle as related to clinical informatics.-Experience with quality improvement principles, practices, and tools into system design. -Experience with designing and monitoring technology-enabled organizational change.-Experience working in an academic institution or large integrated health system.-Experience defining and using metrics to measure outcomesSPECIAL REQUIREMENT-Travel in the Northern California region may be required. -Reliable transportation necessary for off-site visits.
