The Systems Administrator Supervisor 2 works under the direction of the IT Applications Director with primary emphasis on the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) technical platform support. This position provides direct supervision to technical professionals and skilled technical employees. The Systems Administrator Supervisor 2 analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Manages complex patches, updates and major upgrades to UCDH electronic medical record (Epic). Ensures downtime systems, plans and policies are up to date and regularly reviewed for accuracy and effectiveness.REQUIRED-Knowledge of how to apply technologies and systems to meet business needs.-Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.-Advanced knowledge, skills and abilities associated with system problem identification and resolution.-Advanced knowledge of computer security best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing most complex server based software.-Experience managing the internal information systems functions, data communications network, and at a campus, medical center or Office of the President.-Advanced knowledge of computer security best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing most complex server-based software.-Experience implementing large information's systems.-Knowledge of EpicCare's architecture (ClienUServer), support applications (MyChart. PhysicianConnect, Care EveryWhere, Care ElseWhere, Interconnect, print), and databases (Cache)-Experience working with clinical information systems or systems implementation for complex projects and or application development.-Knowledge of Change Management methodologies and systems especially as implemented in an information technology environmentPREFERRED-Project management skill sets.-Excellent oral and written communication skills.-Extensive knowledge in managing multiple environments.-5-8 years' experience in healthcare and clinical environment including experience with healthcare information systems.-Experience with Academic institution or large integrated health systems preferred-Proficient knowledge in the use of MS Office tools, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).-Experience working with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports.-Experience working with SharePoint site administration and design.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
