The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will support EHS staff training needs. The EHS Coordinator will serve as the main point of contact for centralized safety training implementation. This position will assist approximately 15 EHS staff trainers. More specifically, this position will coordinate EHS related safety training, serve as the main point of contact for the EHS learning management systems, help maintain the chemical environmental management system (CEMS) database, and assist with digital records management. This position will work with EHS staff, along with faculty, staff and students to ensure compliance with safety training.
Coordinate EHS Related Safety Training
Maintain EHS training calendar. Establish a training calendar for EHS related trainings, based on anticipated needs.Collaborate with EHS and other University departments to organize training sessions across campus.Coordinate safety trainings on behalf of approximately 15 EHS staff trainers.Schedule training, secure training locations, send reminders, set attendance and archive training records.Coordinate safety training conducted by vendors.
Serve As The Main Point Of Contact For The EHS Learning Management Systems
Obtain department or group rosters to identify faculty, staff and students requiring safety training.Create training profiles for new trainees.Troubleshoot inquires related to the learning management systems.Provide instruction to, and oversight of departmental learning management system managers.Run regular training compliance reports to review training needs and take action as needed.
Help Maintain The Chemical Environmental Management System Database
Obtain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and import data and documents into the chemical environmental management system.Update research laboratory contact information.Back up database for emergency response needs.
Assist With Digital Records Management For EHS
Establish standards for digital records management for the departmental shared drive.Organize legacy / archived information.Ensure consistency in records management.
Miscellaneous EHS Program Support â‹
Provide support to occupational health and safety, research safety, fire safety & environmental compliance teams within EHS. Provide assistance with special projects as directed.
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Safety experience is a plus, but not required.
Attention to details is required.

Experience with Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with database management.
Experience with a learning management system is a plus.
