The Momentary is a new Center for Contemporary Visual and Performing Arts and Culinary Discovery in Bentonville, AR, slated to open in spring 2020. The Center will operate as a subsidiary of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The Production Manager will serve as a member of the Momentary’s performing arts team and will support the production of performing arts projects, including concerts and performances, residencies, commissions, workshops, audio and video recordings, and publications. The Producer will oversee an AV technician and light technician in the department.
The Production Manager will work with the Curator of Performing Arts on technical equipment purchases as well as evaluating technical needs, providing cost estimates, and hiring and managing necessary additional technical staff and resources for all performing arts presentations.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Provide input for the technical and production aspects of all projects
Supervise event budgets following institutional procedures
Create and adjust production schedules in alignment with project budgets
Communicate with designated performing arts companies and artists to ascertain and execute their production requirements
Participate in the planning and layout of new events and event sites
Create and modify CAD drawings for events as required
Organize production meetings with outside technical or production managers
Supervise rehearsal and performance load in / load out as required
Generate, maintain, and keep accessible comprehensive digital files on all productions including but not limited to production expense estimates, event information sheets, technical run sheets, production plans, and final reports
Oversee the coordination of all international and local freight movements
Oversee the coordination, rental and return of all required technical equipment
Obtain quotes for the provision of equipment, supplies and services
Identify new suppliers / companies / venues as appropriate
Oversee the contracting and supervision of temporary crew
Manage the risk identification and documentation for all events
Deliver input to the Operations Manager, the Momentary and the Director of Operations, Crystal Bridges for the implementation of all Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements
Oversee or complete applications to public authorities for permits as required
Maintain the venue / supplier database for production information
Complete annual inventory of Momentary A/V and production equipment and oversee maintenance as required

Education, Training, and Traits:
Bachelor’s degree in Production, Technical Theater, or related field of study
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent working relationships with performing arts venues, artists, festivals, and the A/V industry
Self-directed and motivated, with a hands-on mentality.
Experience working on large-scale projects including theater, dance, concerts, and festivals
Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years prior production experience with a professional theater organization or facility, or equivalent
Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with standard office equipment including basic computer literacy (word processing, spread sheets, e-mail, etc.) telephone, and copy machines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Demonstrated project management, negotiation, and problem solving skills
Ability to interact respectfully, collegially, and professionally with all employees and volunteers at all levels of responsibility
Ability and willingness to be a team player both within the department and throughout the entire organization
Flexibility to work adaptable schedules including days, evenings, and weekends
Ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality
Interest and willingness to work with contemporary artists and performances that may present challenging subject matter
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid U.S. Driver’s License

Work Environment: Work will be performed in an office environment, museum and performance spaces.
