As a new company, Two Birds is positioned to develop and implement new, quality programs quickly. As a result, we rely on our dedicated team to work together seamlessly to create a center that incorporates quality care, technology, and a hands-on approach with its parents, children, and employees to redesign the traditional child care experience. The director will work closely with the company’s founders to execute this vision and to build a center that can become a model for Two Birds’ following locations.
In addition to leading the center and its staff, the director is responsible for the implementation of a high quality, developmentally appropriate program that fosters community and reflects our mission. He/She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the center which include administrative, financial and programmatic management, as well as human resources management and maintaining full compliance with all relevant and applicable laws and requirements.
For this unique opportunity, we are excited to find a Director who looks forward to sharing his/her knowledge and expertise in early care and education to inform our strategic plan as it relates to program implementation and overall company growth and expansion.
The center will have space to serve 96 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years old when it opens this spring.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
Guides families through initial contact, enrollment, and onboarding
Management of day-to-day operations to ensure compliance with all licensing, fire code, and health and safety standards
Management of a large and active waiting list to ensure smooth transitions and full enrollment
Implementation of a high quality, developmentally appropriate program that fosters community and reflects our mission
Implementation of an emergent curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach
Hiring, supervision and support of all staff/faculty members
Development and implementation of staffing plans to meet ratio requirements and ensure a designated authorized representative is present in the Director’s absence
Building relationships with families and implementing ongoing and effective communication strategies
Budget compliance, monitoring expenses monthly, managing all existing vendor contracts, ensuring timely and accurate payroll, and working to ensure the Center meets or exceeds revenue goals
Developing and implementing a marketing plan and strategies to meet enrollment targets and achieve financial goals including management of the waiting list
Maintaining files records, and statistical data in Google Drive
Supporting relationships with community partners to include maintaining a positive relationship with assigned licensing consultants and building management
Meeting, planning, and collaborating regularly with company founders
Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year college or university in Early Childhood Education or related field; Master’s preferred.
3-5 years of management and leadership experience within early childhood care and education
Ability and dedicated interest in implementing new concepts to innovate and transform traditional child care practices while maintaining careful adherence to licensure and quality programming
Excellent financial management and organizational skills
Comfortable working on an entirely digital platform. Proficient in Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Google Docs, Sheets) and QuickBooks
Meets minimum preparation, experience and/or any state required credentials to comply with all applicable state regulations
