The Senior Data Assistant serves as resource to researchers and staff regarding database construction, data entry, data management, and results. This role builds and maintains databases, coordinates incoming data for accuracy and integrity, assists with complex data preparation, analyzes data, and creates reports. This position receives, documents and facilitates all requests for data access and data sharing. The Senior Data Assistant ensures associated administrative tasks such as documentation, editing of code books and manuals, and data use agreements are completed. This role coordinates and executes test plans, assists with and documents process improvement efforts, and works with production issues.
This position will be situated in the Department of Preventive Medicine within the Feinberg School of Medicine. The Senior Data Assistant will support research initiatives at the Center for Behavioral Intervention Technologies (CBITs) and the Bridges Program.
CBITs (http://cbits.northwestern.edu/) provides a unique scientific home for interdisciplinary scholars working in psychology, HCI, computer science, biostatistics, and implementation science. The mission of the center is to design, evaluate, and sustainably implement digital mental health solutions. The overarching theme of the CBITs’ research is focused on the design, evaluation, and implementation of technology-enabled interventions for depression and anxiety in the context of real world care settings.
The Bridges Program is housed in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine (www.bridges.northwestern.edu). Bridges develops innovative implementation research methods to foster partnerships between community, service delivery, and research expressly addressing health and equity.
Identifies and assesses customer (department) data needs.
Assists in identifying organizational area's data integration and related records solutions.
Collaborates on a variety of data management projects including variable definitions, storage, etc.
Partners with clients to define requirements based on research and operations objectives.
Ensures that all data is obtained and verified for subsequent analysis.
Provides updates and summaries regarding statistics.
Provides administrative support to organizational areas.
Identifies and obtains missing data.
Designs and prepares documentation for data management procedures.
Writes queries and reports and creates necessary analysis.
Runs and distributes standard scheduled reports.
Maintains and updates report inventory.
Designs, develops and maintains several REDCap databases
Edits codebooks to reflect process changes.
Merges data from multiple sources in preparation for analysis.
Archives complex data structures to prepare final catalog of data sets.
Performs advanced cleaning/formatting tasks of datasets.
Reviews data and identifies quality issues.
Other duties as assigned
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
4 years' data entry of similar experience is required.
