The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Systems Analyst position in the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA), under the direction of the Director Information Systems. This position is responsible for assisting in the development and the integration of enrollment management system solutions used to attract, recruit and enroll, and retrain students to the University of Pittsburgh. This position is involved in all phases of application development using a variety of software development tools and serves as a member of the Admissions & Financial Aid Information Systems team. The incumbent designs, codes, and tests technical solutions; identifies business process and systems deficiencies; and recommends solutions and works to implement them. The incumbent also serves as a project manager for the development of specified systems, maintains development standards, and develops internal and external meeting objectives and agendas. The position will also assist in the physical and logical database design. In addition to the above, the incumbent will act as a project lead of a small working group and member of the information systems team and will be responsible for advances in business analysis; system design; hands-on development and maintenance of complex business solutions; creating, implementing, and maintaining design, format and linking mechanisms for departmental and unit web sites. The incumbent must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work with others in a team or collaborative environment; and the ability to analyze complex problems, design cost-effective solutions, implement solutions and evaluate results. The position will assist in the implementation of technical policies that contribute to achieving the goals of OAFA, including the maintenance and development of electronic initiatives enhancing program integrity, minimizing risk and providing significant value to customer service.
