The Business Analyst/Project Manager serves in a professional capacity to analyze and interpret business requirements and requests for the Senior Vice Chancellor Health Sciences (SVCHS) collaboratively designing a solution and managing implementation with a team of developers.
The incumbent must be able to do the following: - Manage in a complex technical and administrative environment - Communicate with users/clients, developers and systems analysts - Articulate and carry out objectives and procedures and to recommend necessary changes. - Plan and manage projects, working collaboratively with team members to ensure final deliverable is on time and meets department standards - Interpret business requirements, analysis of software solutions and development of design documentation per internal and industry standards and best practices - Translate into technical and cross-functional specifications, normally UML-based - Lead and participate in design reviews
Key performance criteria include ensuring end-user and system requirements and functional and technical specifications are met, are on time, and are of high quality. Knowledge of project management methodology, software development cycle, Object Oriented Analysis, Design and UML notation required, as well as familiarity with object-oriented programming, good design principles, and design patterns.
This position will be responsible for preparing test matrices, test case development, and verifying that functional requirements as specified in the requirements and implemented in the application meet user needs and iTarget quality standards. Previous experience with relational databases, writing technical documentation and developing software is desirable.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science or other related field preferred. Equivalent experience and industry certifications may be considered. The ability to work on and lead teams, collect requirements and verify analysis and design, and build consensus and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders is a must. Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming and design principles and patterns, and UML notation is required. Exposure to project management methodologies and experience with one or more is highly desirable. Previous experience with relational databases, writing technical documentation and developing software is desirable. Required: Knowledge of UML and experience writing technical documentation.
