The Director is responsible for the production and design of strategic informational and promotional materials for multiple units within the Division of Academic Affairs reporting to the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President. The director will provide administrative oversight and lead the marketing and communication team; serve as a media point-of-contact and coordinate a consistent message among multiple units within the Division of Academic Affairs.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ten years' experience in higher education setting

Proven leadership ability
Strong speaking and writing skills
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Develops, implements, and administers a marketing and communications plan that supports the Office of the Provostâ™s strategic goals. Creates processes, policies, and procedures that guide marketing and communication efforts. Utilizes and intentionally coordinates all mediums (print, electronic, video, web, etc.) to reach key stakeholders and share strategic messaging. Creates and manages the Division brand. Engages and coordinates with other units in Academic Affairs who use the officeâ™s services.
Researches, copy-edits, proofreads and otherwise approves all Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President print and electronic collateral to ensure messaging, voice and style are in alignment with and benefiting the University and Division. Organizes and manages the printing and distribution of print and electronic publications. Engages in and/or direct the planning, writing, editing, photographing, designing, development, production, and dissemination of public materials, annual reports, scripts, fact-sheets, presentations, reports, flyers, brochures, posters, print and electronic newsletters, magazines, multimedia presentations, podcasts, videos and other communication promoting the Division of Academic Affairs. Performs project management duties.
Advises supervisor on communication-related opportunities or challenges and recommend course of action. Develops and maintains relations internally and externally to maintain and enhance credibility, visibility, and goodwill for the Division. Represents the Division in larger university contexts including attending TAMU Brand Council Meetings. Coordinates with divisional team leaders to enhance collaboration, communication, and promotes consistency throughout Academic Affairs communications. Serves as a media point-of-contact and coordinates a consistent message among multiple units within the Division of Academic Affairs (including the Dean of Faculties, the Vice Provost & CIO, the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, the Office of Diversity, and the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies).
Directs, manages, and develops a staff who are responsible for marketing, publications, and internal and external communications. Recommends and plans for adjustments and additions to staff as the department evolves to serve the needs of its clients and constituents. Provides administrative oversight and leads the marketing and communication team.Performs other duties as assigned.
