In This Role, You Will...
Use your data analytics expertise to deliver insights across fundraising including acquisition, retention, donor migration, donation value and the segmentation of potential donors. Manage the use of data visualization and predictive modeling software, including continual training and project creation, lead the building of predictive modeling and also lead and manage the preparation and presentation of results of data analysis and reports.
Manage processes to identify what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data sources, leveraging new data collection processes as needed. Initiate and lead collaborative efforts with subject matter experts to select the relevant sources of information.
Make strategic recommendations on data collection, integration, and retention requirements incorporating business requirements and knowledge of best practices.
Initiate and oversee the creation of reports for tracking and continual maintenance of data, including data cleanup projects.
Partner with others through the strategic application of analytics to develop new approaches to understanding donor and alumni behavior.
Collaborate and cross-train with: oPeers on the research and prospect management teams to assist with pure research requests, prospect management, and other requests as needed. oData integrity partners to coordinate efforts regarding the entry and accuracy of data into the donor database (by working with internal and external individuals and departments). oBusiness Intelligence and Applications support teams to share information and develop data integrations and implement dashboards and information self-service models.
Required Education and Experience:
To Be Successful, You Will Need...
Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Statistics or related field.
At least four years' experience in an analytics and research setting. Experience with a variety of software programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access required. Experience with SQL or other programming languages preferred.
Demonstrated strengths in data management, analysis, applied statistics and visualization capabilities.
Strong project management and planning skills. Well-developed decision-making, problem-solving skills and resourcefulness.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and must be able to communicate effectively with non-technical clients.
Knowledge of online research sources and Internet searching required.
Familiarity with fundraising in higher education or non-profit organizations preferred. Knowledge of the donor cultivation process preferred.
Experience with SEC information, such as the IPO filing process, information on executive compensation, and understanding corporate financial reports preferred.
Strong commitment to confidentiality to protect our donor/prospect's highly sensitive information.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple initiatives with independence, creativity and effectiveness.
