We are looking for a skilled, self-motivated individual to serve on clinical and health services projects in Ophthalmology. Our team works to improve quality of care of patients with eye diseases through imaging and electronic health record analyses applied in national and international settings, specifically India. The focus of the applicant’s position will be project management and grant writing.
Project management including development of data forms for use in research studies and databases development (e.g. in Excel or REDCap programs)
Conduct clinical trial visits with study participants including some participant recruitment.
Prepare supporting materials for grant applications and clinical studies including scientific literature reviews
Development of summaries and presentations related to projects

Bachelor’s Degree in a field of social science (e.g. public health) or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience using formulas and functions in programs like Excel and REDCap to create databases
Electronic medical record experience
Experience working with patients in a clinical care environment
Master’s degree in Public Health or a related discipline; without a Master’s, evidence of adequate research experience will be considered
The ideal candidate will show personal initiative in managing work assignments by organizing, prioritizing work in coordination with the PI, and completing tasks on deadlines. The candidate must be able to work independently, work and communicate with the larger team, and regularly exercise judgment in the application research protocols. This position requires strong interpersonal skills – a person who is approachable and compassionate and has the ability to think on one’s feet in sensitive or difficult situations. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required. Co-authorship of peer-reviewed papers is likely for a candidate with strong writing skills
