Harvard Kennedy School is looking for a creative, solutions-oriented team player to fill the role of Online Learning Manager. Reporting to the Director of Public Leadership Credential, the successful candidate will be part of a strategic project team in the Academic Deans' Office to deliver a series of online courses for mid-career professionals,Public Leadership Credential (PLC).
The Online Learning Manager will be the central liaison between the faculty who oversee course delivery and the teaching assistants who interact with online learners in six-week intensive fully online courses. Specific responsibilities:
Work with program faculty on the delivery of online courses 4-5 times per year, tied to academic calendars. Collaboration involves three faculty leads and the faculty program director.
Oversee the instructional work of teaching teams who mediate the learning activities of the six-week courses, during simultaneous course offerings. Develop expert knowledge of these learning activities and course assignments.
Refine feedback methods and monitor feedback given by teaching teams to the learners for assignments; ensure timely review by teaching teams and redistribute tasks if necessary.
Serve as an official point of contact for learner concerns regarding instructional content, when these needs are escalated from teaching teams, and adjudicate accordingly.
Elaborate and implement academic policies, and refine them as the program matures. Examples include: small group formation, late work policies, scoring consistency and calibration.
Contribute to continuous improvement of courses to enhance scale and sustainability of course operations by analyzing learning data, learner feedback, teaching team feedback, and faculty input. Propose improvements for automation and efficiency.
Coordinate program-wide academic needs with other members of delivery team, especially the program and faculty directors and the faculty leads.

Minimum of three years related professional experience required
Graduate degree, with preference for work related to policy or teaching and learning
Experience working with faculty in a college/university setting, especially in a teaching team role; Harvard / HKS experience a plus
Must deliver high-quality work on tight deadlines
Ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, and project management skills.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Ability to increase workload during course startup and closure phases, which may include weekend availability for urgent questions
