The Educational Consultant/Coach will be responsible for workingwith a team of professionals on a project in a local high school. Theconsultant will participate in the co-design, implementation and analyses of aResearcher-Practitioner Partnership (RPP). Specifically, this position willspend 25 hours/week in our partnering teachers' classrooms to provideinstructional support.

Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting partnering ELA and Mathematics classroom teachers in tasks related but not limited to instructional design, culturally relevant pedagogies, behavioral management support, and professional development. Coaching and professional development support will include insights related to:
o Understanding the UrbanContext
o Teaching Practices in theContent Areas (English Language Arts and Mathematics)
o Mentoring and Social Support
o Participatory Action Research
o Arts and Technology
The position will engage in collecting and analyzing data through dissemination of surveys, organizing of focus groups and interviews, and classroom observations
The position will be responsible for helping to build partnerships with MNPS district and school-based administrative teams.
The position will also attend regular meetings with the project manager and director
Profile of an IdealCandidate
A Bachelor's degree is necessary.
A Bachelor's degree and a background in teaching high school Math and/or English Language Arts is preferred.
Interest in a future career as an instructional coach, or university teaching and learning faculty is preferred.
Experience and knowledge in teaching of mathematics and/or English language arts in secondary schools is necessary.
Strong interpersonal skills arenecessary.
Organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
Strong communication sill and writing acumen arenecessary.
An interest in issues of diversity and equity in education is preferred.
