These position(s) will serve as Website Developers and Programmers on three individual grant/research projects for REACH and will work on varied tasks as a result. Responsibilities of the Website Developer and Programmer include independently leading the developing, coding, testing, and debugging of a multiple websites, programs, and systems. These websites, programs, and systems are all part of multiple Federal Grant projects are vary in nature and topic depending on the project. Duties include web development and programming; management and maintenance; and overall project management.
The expected start date for this position is June 24, 2019.
Web Development and Programming (60%)
Independently lead various website development/design projects
Develop applications using an object oriented PHP framework
Responsible for coding of applications for framework and new features
Troubleshoots website programming issues
Design user interfaces including menus and navigational tools to maximize website usability
Design and implement complex systems and databases
Websites Management and Maintenance (30%)
Review and prioritize web site design and/or development project requests
Advise and consult with content providers to ensure accessibility, usability, and aesthetic appeal of web site designs. Assists content providers in designing web sites for use by individuals with a range of visual, auditory, motor/mobility and cognitive abilities
Ensure compliance of web sites with established standards and protocols
Research and implement web application standards.
Make recommendations regarding selection and purchase of automated tools
Project Management (10%)
Work with team members to assure that the goals and projects of the lab are completed in a correct and timely manner
Provide training and technical assistance to staff
Assist staff in weighing technical options, negotiating timelines, and assigning resources to projects
Other duties as assigned.
Manage all aspects of web site design/development across projects
Maintain hardware and software inventory
Develop backup and recovery procedures
BA/BS degree required. Four years of work experience in the areas of application/web/systems development with a related BA/BS degree. Six years of work experience in the areas of application/web/systems development with a non-related BA/BS degree
Demonstrated or documented knowledge of:
Web site and server architecture
Web site usability and accessibility standards and protocol
Demonstrated or documented skill in:
The design and development of user interface and navigation tools
Researching and using new web site development/design software and trends
Using version control software and good change management practices
Designing and administering databases
Designing useable, accessible websites and original graphics
Demonstrate or document ability to work independently and within team settings
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work well with diverse populations
