JBS International is seeking a Project Director to lead and manage large, complex national and state-level projects focused on building capacity to help address prescription drug misuse and heroin use. Our work focuses on implementing technical assistance and program evaluation for clients at the federal and state level.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Serving as a Project Director has three components:
Leading design of innovative, field-based strategies that will significantly expand service capacity and engagement at state and local levels
Directing and managing large, complex projects and delivering on project aims and requirements
Managing teams of technical experts in behavioral health (including clinicians and counselors), evaluators, data systems and financing experts, and mid-level operations staff
Pivotal work includes:
Identifying trends, emerging issues, policies, and evidence-based practices (EBPs)
Translating evaluation findings into policy and service recommendations
Identifying state and community needs; analyzing which types of consultation have the greatest impact on community outcomes/performance and why
Designing long-term strategies for taking state and community programs to higher levels of performance/outcomes

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Advanced degree (Master’s level or higher) in behavioral health related fields
Language: English fluency (oral and written)
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of work experience directing/managing national projects with high visibility. A minimum of 8 years of work experience directly related to behavioral health services (e.g., clinical, policy, and/or program experience). A minimum of 8 years of project management experience including managing client deliverables, subrecipient performance, project personnel, resource commitments, fiscal oversight including financial reporting and cost-to-complete analysis, risk analysis and change requests. Knowledge of and experience working with states, tribes and territory’s systems overseeing substance abuse, mental health and social and other services.
Skills: Effective, clear, and professional writing and oral communication skills.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Passionate commitment to consumer-centric design and delivery of consultation/technical assistance; understanding and commitment to our model of consultation as a strengths-based, continuous process that supports each organization throughout its journey
Experience: Consulting and federal contract management experience. Experience with opioid use disorder.
Knowledge: Content knowledge of current and emerging issues for behavioral health.
Skills: Strengths-based approach to working with stakeholders in the behavioral health field
Strong management, interpersonal, supervisory, team building, and stress management skills.
