Jewish Council for Youth Services (JCYS) is a 112-year old, Chicago-based nonprofit organization which provides early childhood education, recreational, and camping programs to a diverse community across Chicagoland. With a budget of over $11 million and a 280-person staff, JCYS programs touch over 8,000 families a year through multiple locations. The JCYS Leadership Circle, our leadership development initiative, is nationally known and truly cutting edge in the field. Our board of directors serves as a training ground for future philanthropic leaders.
This is a fortuitous time in our long history as we reimagine the work of the agency and broaden our reach in Chicagoland. We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who has a demonstrated track record and is a forward-thinking leader with superior management skills and strategic visioning capability. The CFO is a key member of the senior leadership team, serves as a strategic partner and adviser to the CEO, and is responsible for all financial matters of the organization.
In collaboration with the CEO and senior leadership, the Chief Financial Officer will help chart the future for the agency and will play a critical and on-going role to bring that vision to reality. He/she will develop effective and strategic processes and innovative analytical systems which will lead the agency toward higher organizational performance. He/she will lead an excellent finance team staff, will have a passion for developing and mentoring people, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Reports to the Chief Executive Officer, several direct reports.
Broad senior-level management experience, providing strategic financial leadership, preferably in a not for profit;
Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration;
CPA license required;
Experience in partnering with an executive team.
Demonstrated expertise in strategic/financial planning, financial analytics and modeling;
Strong working knowledge of financial and other technologies;
A strong strategic orientation with the ability to effectively partner with, and communicate to, the CEO, Board of Directors, and other leaders on the senior staff team.
Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining a high-performing team;
Proven track record in implementing innovative processes and systems.
Demonstrated and proven results from at least 10 years prior experience.
