The Department of Fine and Applied Arts is seeking applicants for a part-time Associate Lecturer to teach Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop basics beginning in Fall 2019.
This introductory, accelerated course teaches the fundamentals of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, industry software for the development of bitmap imagery and vector graphics. The course will be offered on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm. The first half of the course introduces Adobe Illustrator through designing icons and symbols. The second half of the course introduces Adobe Photoshop through conceptualizing and designing digital collages. Through assignment, lecture, and tutorial, this course challenges students’ abilities to develop sensitivity to relationships of form and content through visually dynamic compositions.

The position requires a BFA degree in Design or equivalent (MFA degree preferred).
Prior experience teaching at the collegiate level required.
Candidates must have design industry experience, be able to produce work that informs their teaching, and be active in the community through participation in exhibitions, organizations and conferences.
