The Director, Professional Women in Building (PWB) will be responsible for developing, organizing, directing, and coordinating staff, programs and activities of the NAHB PWB Council. The director will oversee membership development and retention, and develop all member programs and services. He/she will manage the business of the council and the initiatives of an active and engaged Board of Trustees and its subcommittees, prioritize activities and issues related to the council, and direct implementation of PWB's strategic plan. The director will address the needs of current members as well as prospective members and provide them with a value proposition that leverages both current and potential capabilities of PWB to serve them even better. He/she will enhance PWB's image and further its mission by supporting the board's individual and collective communication with local PWB councils, sponsors and members. The director will be a team player who is efficient, flexible, trustworthy and transparent in managing the organization's day-to-day operations, finances and member services.
Qualified candidates will have excellent oral and written communication and consensus building skills, with the ability to develop and market member products and services to increase membership and revenue. Candidates will have a demonstrated record of successful project management, finance and operations experience in a membership association.
The ideal candidate will also be a quick learner with the ability to absorb new information, manage complex programs and establish productive working relationships with all levels of staff, housing professionals, other executives, and trade, industry and governmental groups.
A minimum of five years of related experience, managing professional staff and budget resources is required. Knowledge of the building industry is a plus. A bachelor's degree, or the equivalent in education and experience, is required.
