Associate Director of Marketing, Alumni and Friends Engagement and the Clark Fund

Clark University’s University Advancement Division seeks to fill the position of Associate Director of Marketing, Alumni and Friends Engagement and the Clark Fund. Reporting to the Director of the Clark Fund, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing critical daily operations of the both departments through effective engagement, solicitation, and marketing to alumni, parents and friends of Clark University using direct mail, e-mail, social media, and other communication channels.
Working collaboratively with Clark Fund and Alumni & Friends staff members, this position will coordinate marketing for annual giving programs and alumni and parent engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the strategic direction of marketing channels for the Clark Fund for each fiscal year (direct mail, e-mail, and social media).
Produce copy for all direct mail and e-mail appeals for the Clark Fund under the direction of the Director of the Clark Fund.
Produce copy for print and email invitations for Alumni and Friends Engagement under the direction of the Associate Director.
Coordinate production of direct mail and brochure production for the Clark Fund and Alumni and Friends Engagement including the bidding process and execution of print pieces with mail houses.
Manage digital fundraising tools.
Maintain content for department website.
Work with colleagues in Alumni and Friends Engagement, the Clark Fund and University Marketing and Communications to ensure marketing efforts are strategic and coordinated.
Thorough understanding of Raiser’s Edge data elements related to constituent contact, gift and prospect information in order to request the correct data from Advancement Services staff for respective programmatic activity.
Budget management for individual solicitation programs in order to establish accurate reporting of response rates and return on investment (ROI).
Other duties as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree, required.
2-4 years’ of professional experience in marketing, preferably for higher education advancement; proven record of project management, required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with campus partners to ensure all projects and efforts are coordinated and cohesive.
Deadline-driven focus with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to exercise independent judgment.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge or a similar customer relationship management (CRM) platform.
Prior experience using social media channels and metrics for strategic messaging; strong knowledge of the digital media landscape.
Prior experience working with and contributing to a diverse workplace with the ability to interact effectively with a broad range of constituents on campus.
Some evening and weekend hours as well as occasional local travel for events.
