Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Project Coordinator II for the BSPPP-Voorhees Transport Center. This position provides support to one or more project managers/principal investigators by assisting with the coordination of assigned programs/projects.The project coordinator is expected to perform professional work that requires knowledge of general project coordination practices and the basic application and use of concepts, theories, and terminology used in the field of transportation planning and policy.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists in the conduct of research, including the planning and administration of focus groups and surveys; the analysis of data from primary and secondary sources.
Assists with the preparation project reports, memoranda and other work products.
Arranges and coordinates logistics and assists with content related to project-related events and meetings.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in city and regional planning or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of project coordination, organization, facilitation, report preparation and analysis, writing, and outreach.
Also requires a minimum of two years relevant experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong computer literacy
Must be patient, tactful and courteous
Excellent organizational skills and ability to listen are essential
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to perform multiple tasks and prioritize tasks well
Should be able and willing to offer suggestions for improvement of processes.
Master degree in city and regional planning or related field preferred.
Experience and knowledge related to transportation policy and planning generally as well as subject matter expertise in the concentrations of bicycle and pedestrian planning; transit/para transit planning and operations; and/or public engagement also desired.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Proficiency in GIS, web publishing and statistical analysis software programs is also desired.
