University of Maryland Emergency Medicine is seeking a physician scientist to serve as Vice Chairman of Research and Director for the Comprehensive Center of Acute Care Research to join its distinguished faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced medical researcher to develop an innovative program designed to enhance the quality of life for our patients. The incumbent will have a faculty appointment with the University of Maryland School of Medicine, one of the most prominent medical schools in the nation.
This role encompasses the following leadership responsibilities and growth opportunities:
Strategically develop cutting-edge research initiatives, facilitate processes, and oversee the center's growth to meet the goals of the department.
Provide oversight of research finances, budgets, grant development, and project management.
Ensure all research proposals are in compliance with the University of Maryland School of Medicine policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Initiate network development between the University of Maryland community and the boarder national and international research community.
What you will need to be successful:
MD/DO or equivalent
Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or its equivalent
An established track record of grant funding and scholarly publications as an academic physician scientist
Experience mentoring trainees and experience in developing research programs in an areas of acute care research
