Full Time; Career Starting Salary Range: $78,000-$87,000/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Involves providing a variety of IT services. Assignments may include database administration, application programming, IT project management, systems administration, systems and process analysis, security, solution development and maintenance, business technical support or a combination of these and / or other IT functions.
The mission of the Local IT Specialist is to optimize the use of available resources within ITS in achieving the following three objectives: 1) Working with the administrative units on campus to realize their maximum potential with respect to their department-specific objectives. 2) Developing and providing a stable, robust infrastructure that will support the current and expected needs of the division, and its departments, and programs. 3) Applies professional concepts, department / unit and campus / medical center / OP policies and procedures to resolve a variety of complex issues in one or more IT areas of specialization. Analyzes complex issues. Within defined procedures and practices, determines appropriate action.
Local IT Specialists are staff who provide personalized, discipline-specific, IT support for campus in accomplishing the mission. We leverage commonalities through cross-divisional technical communities to develop and deliver right-sized/right-priced common services as appropriate, aggregating what we learn and provide as input to ITS. This position provides strategic direction, technical leadership, human and resource management to develop and deliver IT services to campus administration, and more specifically to campus leadership. Incumbent works as part of a collaborative team that delivers coordinated IT services.
Broad knowledge of various areas of IT.
Advanced skills associated with programming design, modification and implementation. Basic knowledge of secure software development. Demonstrated ability to create software specifications.
Requires ability to assess campus and customer needs for information technology products and design services to meet those needs. Understanding of and experience troubleshooting client, server and peripherals-related issues and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance. Experience in incident response and digital forensics, including data collection, examination and analysis.
Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Ability to produce documentation or other communications in a clear and concise manner.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
