MyDay is a complex, multi-year program designed to improve WashU’s operational excellence and ability to make insight-driven decisions. MyDay is a once-in-a-generation program to replace the university’s core administrative IT systems (human resource, finance and student) and improve associated business processes. The five-year effort will replace these systems with a single system (Workday) that will integrate all of our key administrative data in the cloud.
Responsible for planning and directing activities for multiple team members as appropriate. The lead will be responsible for the development of the comprehensive security model that will work across multiple project with the MyDay Program. Security lead is also accountable for creating a methodology for the development and maintenance of established roles with various application that are part of the MyDay program. The lead will work with other leaders in WashU IT and business unit to ensure alignment of strategy with the overall security posture of the University. The lead will contribute to the development of, and enforces operational standards.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead multiple security analysts within the MyDay program
The lead will assign work to each security analyst to ensure the program objective are met.
The lead will guide and mentor analysts to ensure the strategy and methodology is clear and help resolve any issues or roadblocks associated with it.
Ensure IT security architecture, plans, controls, policies and procedures are aligned with IT standards and mission
The lead will develop the security architecture, necessary controls, help develop policies and procedures associated with security, help shepherd policies through the WashU’s policies development process.
The lead will also work with leaders with in WashU IT to ensure alignment across departments.
Develop and maintain the methodology related to application security
The lead will develop a methodology for setting up application security across community. These may require building flexibility to accommodate multiple applications [Home grown, Vendor, SaaS, etc.].
Develop and maintain strategy related to application security
The lead will develop a strategy towards building a comprehensive application security that will work across all applications.
Participate in evaluation, monitoring and maintaining security policies and procedures and systems including hardware and software.
The lead will work closely with security analysts to ensure ongoing processes for maintenance security roles.
Will work with IDM team to ensure there no SOX or other compliance issues.
Communicate and collaborate with business and IT departments to evaluate security risks within the environment.
The lead will work with leaders with in WashU IT to ensure alignment. Specific team that this lead with connect on a regular basis are Information Security Office, Enterprise Applications, Enterprise Architecture, Identity & Access Team, Internal audit.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years relevant information technology experience including managing information security teams or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Understand and managed role based application security for organization within large ERP.
Supports teammates at all times and in any way necessary to maintain a productive, energetic, efficient and dynamic WashU IT team.
Communicates effectively and frequently both verbally and in writing with other members of the team.
Collaborates with other teammates to provide assistance, and expertise, as well as to receive expert input and assistance from others delivering the best solution and experience for the customer.

Ability to technically review work of subordinates to assure high quality, quantity and efficient operation, when projects or work tasks are completed.
Ability to manage multiple dimension of security as it relates to university policy and federal regulations.
Project management experience.
Ability to delegate project responsibilities and effectively monitor their progress and to actively participate to ensure project success.
Must possess the ability to manage technical projects of varying scale that require latitude in decision and actions. Must demonstrate initiative in solving unexpected problems associated with projects.
Candidate must possess the ability to plan and accomplish goals based on experience and judgment.
Able to review and report on area accomplishments against organizational objectives in order to maximize operational effectiveness.
Must possess strong written and oral communication skills; ability to set strategic goals and perform in both business and technology settings.
