The Project Manager at Portland State University's Institute for Sustainable Solutions (ISS) plays a critical role in identifying and managing collaborative projects that address sustainability challenges in our city and region. Specifically, the position will focus on developing and managing projects that connect staff and faculty with community sustainability needs. The Project Manager will have daily interactions with partners within the university and outside the university to scope and manage collaborative projects; the position will also have a strong focus on external marketing for existing programs and projects – aiming to grow more interest and engagement from external stakeholders.
This position is time limited due to grant funding and will end on 6/30/2019.
- BA/BS with 3+ years of related experience or Master's with 1+ year of related experience.
- Master's or advanced professional degree and 2 years of experience managing sustainability projects. - Understanding of the core constraints in multiple sectors/organization types, ability to mediate and advance complex conversations. - Understanding of project management principles, experience managing complex projects with multiple actors. - Relationship development skills, marketing, clear/effective writing. - Planning and logistics management, scheduling software, coordination with service providers and contractors.
