The Company is seeking a talented VP of Innovation, with experience leading a focused team of software engineers that will work on creating prototypes and develop quick solutions based on an innovation pipeline. Providing guidance through their career progressions, this software engineering delivery leadership role, is also responsible for engaging with our stakeholders, including product management and business leaders.
You will be responsible for all aspects of product delivery for innovation initiatives in CBRE's Digital and Technology organization.
A successful candidate will be expected to be able to provide strategic thinking, business and technology leadership of key innovation initiatives and will need to have broad-based expertise spanning: customer experience design, develop hackathon-type custom solutions and prototyping, modern product delivery approaches such as design thinking, agile methodologies and a passion for innovation.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: This individual will report into Global Head of Digital and Technology Enterprise Services and will:
Recruit, manage, retain, coach and develop a team of outstanding software engineering professionals providing software development leveraging multiple technology stacks based on an innovation pipeline.
Supporting our sales team by recognizing and discussing key issues with our clients to identify potential new products and solutions
Lead development of select SaaS based online/ mobile products which are key innovation priorities for the business
Grow/ stand-up a high-impact engineering team – deeply technical, agile development practices
Set-up an innovation lab – work with the business to identify areas where technology innovation can generate substantial upside; test and scale-up innovation.
Provide oversight and hands-on technical leadership for the delivery of software products and platforms involving a variety of technologies and ensure that the implemented solutions deliver on client expectations.
Champion a culture of innovation and nimble innovation pipeline management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Experience:
Seasoned technology executive.
Led development/ launch of modern SaaS and mobile products
Led product and engineering teams
Experience in testing and scaling-up innovation working with the business
Design thinking and innovation frameworks knowledge
Led hackathons and hosted innovation events
Deep technical expertise (e.g., mobile development, micro-services architecture and cloud deployment)
Led agile software development teams.
Experience managing an innovation team
Prior development experience can be any relevant stack (Python/Django, Java, node, etc.) but recent .Net, Sitecore, Azure and DevOps experience preferred.
Relish working with small high-impact teams

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science or related field from a four-year college or university or a minimum of 12 -14 years of related experience, including 7 years of experience at the management level.
MS or MBA degree preferred
Expert knowledge of agile principles and innovation techniques is required.
