The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solution Architect to join our Transformation and Innovation Team within Customer Savings and Investments in Stirling, London or Reading. The Customer Savings & Investments business (CS&I) have entered into a new partnership with a third party provider that will radically transform the provision of IT services to the CS&I business and customers with the vast majority of resources being owned and managed by the third party. There is a massive digital enablement ambition as part of the CS&I transformation putting self-service capabilities in the hands of its customers, advisors and trustees while providing the latest toolset to the operations when they deal with the customers. The Solution Architect will ensure the overall integrity of the solution is kept intact while transformation deliveries progress and will help to develop the right solution design by working with CITO IT Architects and third part IT/Solution designers to ensure it is governed effectively. Key Responsibilities:
Take high level intentions or concepts and translate to a workable level of detail which demonstrates how the strategy and associated objectives can be achieved, maintaining documentation of architectural decisions.
Lead the design and continuing evolution of a solution model and road maps.
Ensure that the overall integrity of the solution (business process and technology) is maintained throughout the development, implementation and future enhancement lifecycles.
Provide significant input into business case development for new initiatives within CS&I
Ensure the existence of a clear, well-articulated and widely syndicated Business Architecture document with underlying rationale and prevailing assumptions
Manage the process of formal sign-off for key design decisions and associated change requests
Ensure appropriate integration of diverse work streams to ensure congruence with architectural principles and ensure cross enterprise dependencies are identified / managed.
Ensure third party suppliers operate within the architectural framework, working closely with CITO's Chief IT Architect.
Actively participate in and maintain regular liaison with the internal Group bodies to ensure an understanding of shared assets (process/ technology) and enable resolution on complex cross business unit design issues.
You will have:
Good understanding of solution architecture framework and how to apply these into life and pension business.
Good understanding of various aspects of running architecture governance function.
Good understanding of IT as well as life and pension industry across architecture.
A strong level of understanding of tax wrappers, platform and broader digital technologies applicable in the life and pension sector across multiple dimensions, including but not limited to customers, competitors, suppliers and regulators, together with the trends emerging therein.
A strong knowledge of operational processes and customer service propositions.
A strong and developing knowledge of financial services regulatory and legislatory framework
Worked as lead business analyst or solution design in a complex organisation
A track record of delivery
Evidence of effective stakeholder management to Director level
Evidence of running an effective architecture governance function
