The Senior User Experience Lead will work across the portfolio of applications and services provided by SEAS Computing to ensure that the work we do always has our users' needs as the foremost concern. They will be responsible for user experience research and requirements gathering on new application development projects and service offerings across both administrative and educational audiences. They will maintain UX artifacts such as user personas, and will create wireframes and designs to aid the production of usable and accessible applications. They will conduct in-person and remote requirements gathering and user testing sessions with members of the SEAS Community, including staff, students, and faculty.
The Senior User Experience Lead will also be a key point-of-contact for members of the SEAS Community outside of SEAS Computing. They will be an expert resource for training and advise regarding the design, usability, and accessibility of digital products.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
UX research and requirements gathering: Use best-practice techniques in performing user research and requirements gathering tasks for SEAS Computing projects. Create and maintain UX artifacts such as personas and user task lists to ensure that we are creating and delivering products that met the users needs.
Accessibility monitoring: Assess current and future SEAS Computing applications and services to ensure that we meet appropriate levels of accessibility (e.g. WCAG 2.0 AA).
Training and consultancy: Provide user training and consultancy services for users of OpenScholar and other website technologies within the SEAS Community.
Creating wireframes and designs: Build wireframes and design concepts to support the development of applications and websites that serve the SEAS Community.
Coaching and mentoring: Coach and mentor SEAS Computing developers on principles of UX.
Research and Training: Keeping up to date with latest user experience research and application design trends.
Expert resource: Be an expert resource to SEAS Community members seeking advice on matters of UX, design and accessibility.
Administration and Meetings: Weekly meetings within group, interdepartmental meetings and working group discussion, and sprint planning/review meetings.

Minimum of seven years' post-secondary education and/or relevant work experience.
Experience with UX research techniques and UI development.
Able to deliver high-quality and accurate work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Experience working with Agile project management and application development techniques.
Experience working with web-based content management systems (e.g. OpenScholar, WordPress, Drupal).
A strong commitment to web standards.
