Strategically identify and build relationships with local, regional, national and international employers in order to provide CSE students and alumni with high quality internship, co-op, and full-time employment opportunities.
Advise and counsel employers with regard to the most effective means of identifying potential candidates to meet the employer’s specific needs.
Work with employers to develop marketing strategies for enhancement of employer presence on campus. Evaluate appropriateness of employer expectations.
Frequently collaborate with corporate relations/development and alumni relations office in order to foster broader engagement within the college.
Facilitate and encourage relationships between employers and the university community, including students, staff, and faculty.
Act as a resource for CSE regarding employer relations/engagement and provide expertise as needed.
Work closely with communications department to develop employer-facing marketing materials focused on recruitment of CSE students.
Collect, analyze, and report data regarding employer recruiting and hiring activities.
Employer-based Events – 30%
Plan and execute two large-scale CSE career fairs per year, in collaboration with Career Center staff and CSE student groups. Project manage all aspects of the career fair including venue logistics, employer recruitment, student marketing, and event staffing.
Work with Career Center staff to communicate opportunities for employers to participate in special events each semester including Resume Marathon, Practice Interview Days, and career workshops/panels.
Coordinate and lead regular local and regional site visits to companies interested in hosting CSE students.
Develop new events with employer participation focused on promoting experiential learning opportunities.
Program Development – 20%
Develop, execute, and evaluate a wide variety of opportunities for employers to engage with CSE students.
Create and implement policies and procedures that ensure a high-quality recruiting program that reflects the needs and expectations of employers and students.
Cultivate positive relationships with key CSE staff, faculty, and student organizations to encourage their involvement in employer-related programming and volunteer opportunities.
Collaborate with CSE Career Center staff and communications department to develop a strategy to communicate employer programming and information to CSE students.
Collect and track data in order to evaluate the success of employer programming and make recommendations for continued improvement.
Additional Responsibilities – 10%
Teach one section of CSE 1001: First Year Experience in the fall semester. Hold weekly office hours and supervise an undergraduate teaching assistant.
Provide support and participate in additional CSE Student Services programming including major recruiting events, new student orientation, etc.
Research and stay informed in local, state, and national employment trends and STEM labor market related issues.
Collaborate across UMN career services offices on University-wide programming and actively participate in relevant committees.
Maintain involvement in state and national professional associations.

Bachelor's degree plus at least four years of experience in relationship development, college recruiting, higher education or related field.
Must possess a dynamic, professional demeanor with a motivated and enthusiastic work style.
Documented experience in building strong relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders including students, employers, alumni, faculty and staff.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently and positively represent the College and University to employers. High level of comfort with networking.

Experience collecting and analyzing data; ability to utilize data to drive strategy.
Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and successfully within a fast-paced environment
Experience working with the Twin Cities business/STEM community.
Familiarity with the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus.
