The Associate Director will administer the Center's many programs, develop and implement a public-facing digital communications strategy, coordinate collaborative projects with other institutes and centers at NYU, oversee administrative staff and student employees, develop funding proposals to be submitted for external agencies and donors, handle communications with faculty and external stakeholders, represent the director when needed, and be responsible for liaising with NYU's school deans and faculty, both here in New York City and in the Global University Network.
Required Education Master's degree in a Humanities or related field
Required Experience 5+ years of relevant experience, including experience with program and event development, grant writing and reporting, budget management, and research.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of higher education and research and of the role of knowledge in public affairs; outstanding skills in oral and written communication; strong interpersonal and networking skills; demonstrated organizational ability; capacity to manage a budget, supervise staff, and work with a diverse set of colleagues; web-development and graphic design; social media communications skills; active research agenda.
Preferred Education Ph.D. in a Humanities or related field
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience and excellence in humanities research and research orientation, leading public events, hosting visitors, and representing an institution in high-level meetings and public events.
