Looking for highly motivated faculty member to join the HiBRID (Healthcare innovation Bridging Research, Informatics and Design) team at NYU School of Medicine. This dynamic, fast-paced health informatics research and innovation team is seeking a new member to create, lead and execute highly novel and pragmatic studies in collaboration with NYU Langone Health’s clinical and operations teams to rollout new tools, apps, and features integrated deeply into its information technology backbone (Epic EHR, etc.). The role will encompass both academic (grant writing, manuscript preparation, data analysis, project supervision) and digital development responsibilities (user centered design sprints, usability testing, rapid prototyping and iterative development cycles). Current areas of focus include studies seeking to use user centered design, A-B testing, behavioral economics, automated feedback loops and machine learning approaches to optimize clinical decision support, health assessments and digital behavior change interventions.
The HiBRID lab is housed within the Department of Population Health which includes over 90 full-time faculty members and numerous post-doctoral fellows, students and research staff. Both the school and the hospital have been named in the top 3 in the nation by US News and World Report. NYU Langone Health is a Magnet institution that has been rated first for quality and safety by the University Health System Consortium for the past three years.
The ideal candidate will have an MD or PhD degree, post-graduate research training, an excellent track record of high quality publications, expertise in a relevant field, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, a passion for using technology to improve healthcare, and enthusiasm for collaborating with a multidisciplinary research group. Strong quantitative or qualitative analytic skills are necessary. A history of independent funding is desirable. For physician investigator candidates, board certification or eligibility and NY State licensure or eligibility is required. Applicants at any level of academic rank are encouraged; salary and rank will be determined on the basis of experience.
