Responsible to supervise the daily activities of staff pharmacists and pharmacy technicians; plan, develop and implement departmental and organizational initiatives including the training for departmental staff and nursing staff; and assure compliance with regulatory requirements for sterile products. Assure compliance with federal and state laws and regulatory requirements.
This manager position is primarily responsible for the sterile products area, which includes:
Supervise staff pharmacists and technicians that primarily work in the sterile products area
Ensure all staff competencies are up-to-date, which include media fill, gloved fingertip testing, etc.
Assure that all regulatory and compliance standards (USP 797 / 800) and all federal/state laws are met
Plan, develop, and implement departmental and organizational initiatives including the training for departmental staff and nursing staff
Bachelors degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D plus 3 years job related experience required.
Pennsylvania registration in Pharmacy or eligibility required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent communication skills, project management skills, and decision making skills required.
Ability to analyze data required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint required.
Masters Degree in Hospital Pharmacy, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred.
